High Tea with Nancy Russell

Perhaps the most famous of artists to pass through Central Montana was C.M. Russell, but less is said about his wife, Nancy. Join us on Wednesday, August 1st, at 4 PM to hear Nancy’s side of the story, as Humanities Montana speaker Mary Jane Bradbury interprets and impersonates this historic figure. Mary Jane, as Nancy, will join us for a “High Tea” at the Lewistown Art Center to explore Nancy’s life with Charlie, her impact on his business, and their legacy in Montana. High Tea with Nancy Russell is co-sponsored by the Montana Cowboy Poetry Gathering, the Lewistown Art Center, and the C.M. Russell Museum. Tickets for the “High Tea” are available at the Lewistown Art Center or online at www.lewistownartcenter.net, and include a delicious array of tea, sandwiches, and treats, as well as a performance and lecture by Mary Jane Bradbury.

Mary Jane is a gifted storyteller with more than 25 years of experience acting, speaking, educating, and writing. She is a Chautaugua speaker for Humanities Montana, and has been an Artist in Residence for the Charles M. Russell Museum in Great Falls. She performs across the West, channeling the spirits of frontier women like Jeannette Rankin, Nancy Russell, and many others.
