Metis Celebration & Powwow

Join this year's annual Metis Celebration and Powwow at the Fergus County Fairgrounds. Live music - all musicians welcome. Catch the traditional Metis jig contest, the Waltz contest, and the fiddle contest. Free tent camping available.

  • 6PM Metis speakers
  • 7PM Metis Anthem, live auction
  • 8PM Fiddle, jig and waltz contests

Saturday

  • 10AM Parade downtown
  • 10AM Jig, fiddle, and Michif language lessons, beadwork session, trapper, tent, and fur displays
  • 12PM Powwow registration opens
  • 1PM Powwow grand entry
  • 2PM Metis panel speakers
  • 5PM Free feed, auction
  • 7PM Metis music and dance performances followed by dancing and jigging
  • 7PM Powwow grand entry

Sunday

  • 10AM Commemoration ceremony at the cemetery for unmarked grave sites
  • 1PM Powwow grand entry
