Montana Winter Fair

In the dead of winter, silent January, ranchers and farmers have a brief reprieve before calving and lambing begins. At a time when snow softly blankets the world-famous grasslands of our Big Sky Country, winter wheat is sleeping and everything on four legs is carrying a baby. Life is silently growing! The earth is renewing life and its energy. Montanans are pausing to celebrate the agricultural lifestyle we love! Montana Winter Fair, with roots of origin going back to 1946, is a celebration of Montana’s world-class agricultural production and enviable “western way of life”.

The Montana Winter Fair was hosted every January in Bozeman from 1946 through 2002, when it re-located to Lewistown, the center of the state. Montana Winter Fair continues its traditions with participants, young and old, from Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, South Dakota, North Dakota and beyond.

Montana Winter Fair is a non-profit endeavor, organized and produced by hundreds of enthusiastic volunteers throughout the Central Montana Community. Local sponsors generously underwrite every facet of the Montana Winter Fair. A HUGE THANK YOU TO ALL WHO VOLUNTEER AND SPONSOR this unique and relevant observance of Montana as one of the greatest agricultural producers in the world!

Come and join your neighbors this year at the 2022 Montana Winter Fair, January 27-30. It’s a great cure for cabin fever!
