Wild Wings Choteau
There’s a moment in early spring, just outside Choteau, when the sky quite literally fills with movement. Thousands upon thousands of snow geese and tundra swans sweep across the prairie, their calls echoing over the still-cold landscape—a seasonal ritual that feels both fleeting and timeless.
Wild Wings is a quiet invitation to witness it.
Held alongside the annual migration at Freezout Lake Wildlife Management Area, this free, community-rooted event offers guided mornings on the refuge, educational gatherings, and space to simply take it all in. No tickets, no rush—just the rhythm of nature and the people who gather to appreciate it.
