Women in Agricultural Communities Well-Being Retreats

Retreat Content and Objectives:

This retreat was created to bring together women in agricultural communities from across Montana for a chance to take a break from the busy-ness of typical life. We know that life can be challenging: running a business, a family or both… working the ranch, tending the garden, living in rural communities, and navigating the complexity of community relationships comes with its own benefits and costs. We believe that we are all stronger together as we attempt to navigate the overwhelm.

Well-being: “the state of being happy, healthy, or prosperous.”

Overwhelm: "the all-too common feeling that our lives are somehow unfolding faster than the human nervous system and psyche are able to manage well.”

Over the course of the retreat we use writing, solo reflection, small and large group discussion, structured activities, and shared meals to help participants achieve the following objectives:

  • Connect with other women in ag communities and reconnect with yourself;
  • Reflect on the challenges you have overcome and the strengths you have used to do so;
  • Restore your capacity for resilience through learning concepts and practicing tools known to support your nervous system;
  • Reclaim your sense of purpose as you embark on the year ahead.
