Montana Cowboy Poetry Gathering and Western Music Rendezvous
Welcome everyone to the 34th Annual Montana Cowboy Poetry Gathering and Western Music Rendezvous, a signature event held every August in Lewistown, Montana. We’re glad you’re here! Montana Cowboy Poetry Gathering is the 2nd oldest cowboy poetry gathering in the country, just one year behind the National Cowboy Poetry Gathering in Elko, Nevada! The mission of Montana Cowboy Poetry Gathering is: “…to preserve and celebrate the history, heritage and values of the American cowboy in the upper Rocky Mountain west.” Online ticket sales for this one-of-a-kind show are now open.
The Montana Cowboy Poetry Board is proud to announce our 2019 headlining performer, the award-winning Bellamy Brothers. From pop to country, the Bellamy Brothers are bringing their iconic music to Lewistown in August of 2019.
Montana Cowboy Poetry Gathering and Western Music Rendezvous, (MCPG), is a 4-day cultural festival, dedicated to celebrating and preserving the history, heritage and values of the cowboy lifestyle of the Upper Rocky Mountain West. Through cowboy poetry and western music lyrics, an oral history of the American cowboy is shared. A Western Art & Gear Show featuring artists of all genres and their endless western wares, is also produced in conjunction with the gathering.
Montana Cowboy Poetry Gathering is held annually in mid-August in Lewistown, Montana. Over 120 cowboy poets, western musicians and artists primarily from Montana, Wyoming, Idaho, South Dakota, Colorado and Canada, convene to share their talents and perpetuate the traditions of the American West.
